  • Backshop

    • Included driving range operations, tournament set up and customer relations.

    • Lead a team of others in lieu of the pro shop during tournaments, playoffs and other CPGA/EGA events.

  • Pro Shop

    • Working with experienced golf pros learning the business side of the golf course.

    • Selling merchandise and green fees, working to provide a high level of customer service.

  • Grounds Crew / Irrigation Technician Assistant

    • Working under the Superintendent I learnt and worked with all equipment maintaining green space areas of the golf course using both Toro and John Deere machinery

    • Irrigation Technician experience with RainBird and Toro sprinkler heads, installing Quick Couplers, gate valves, and pipe repairs when needed.

MAY 2015 - CURRENT

  • Irrigation Technician

    • Working with others under the supervision of the superintendent, fulfilling all irrigation duties throughout the golf course.

    • Efficient programming and repairing of the ageing irrigation system.

    • Assisting and completing all maintenance and cultural practices.

  • Spray Technician

    • Calibrate, apply and document all pesticide and fertilizer application on the golf course, while adhering to strict City standards for PPE usage and Standard Operating Procedures.​

APRIL 2021 - CURRENT

  • Assistant Superintendent

    • Schedule, assign and prioritize work of individuals and teams engaged in the maintenance and operation of Victoria Golf Course.

    • Scout and evaluate plant health, diseases and pests in order to implement preventative and curative measures with very minimal use of pesticides, focusing on cultural practices.

    • Develop a strong team dynamic through cooperative projects and solo assignments with a commitment to a team based approach and following core standard expectations.

    • Develop and adapt changing maintenance priorities related to operating budgets and the overall yearly maintenance plan.

    • Prepare annual budgetary documentation and reports to measure success and potential areas for improvement.

    • Effectively deliver hiring, orientation and training programs that will ensure golf team safety and effectively manage the core product.

    • Attend greens committee meetings and participate in public engagement and corporate meetings as needed.

    • Coordinate mechanical repairs and equipment maintenance throughout the season, internally and externally through additional vendors.

    • Ordering and procurement of all golf course consumables and big ticket items.

    • Effectively monitor and use water responsibly, with the goal of continually reducing usage numbers. Additionally assisting with irrigation repairs and programming through Toro Lynx software.

    • Create, implement and manage custom designed software to be used when managing staff tasks, monitoring expenditures, assessing course conditions, and increasing effective communication between departments and membership.
