Over ten years ago now, I began my unexpected career in the golf course industry. If you would have asked me back when I started if I thought I had a future in the industry, I would have denied it and likely told you I was going to become a dentist. It all started at Millwoods Golf Course in Edmonton, Alberta where I first became infatuated with the industry. Starting as a back shop kid cleaning carts and picking range balls was when I first became addicted with the industry. After working the range for a couple summers, I moved up into the pro shop, during this time, I also started on the maintenance team which had me working 16 hour days, and of course, I loved every minute of it. Eventually I moved out of the pro shop and onto the maintenance crew full time.

After three full summers and after finding a new passion for irrigation and plumbing, I decided it was time to leave the industry and try something year round. I managed to secure a job as an apprentice plumber and thought that was the way I was going to go. Until a job came up with the City of Edmonton that was almost too good to refuse. So after a short stunt as a residential plumber, I made the move back into the golf world taking a position as a greenskeeper at Victoria Golf Course.

Victoria Golf Course is Canada's oldest city run golf course and arguably one of the busiest. Throughout my time at Victoria, I spent many hours perfecting turf grass management skills and I look forward to adjusting them to any property.

In my time off, I am an avid golfer, and love to spend time practicing my game. I also like to spend my weekends on the water or by the fire out at the lake.
